AZIMUT 78 FLY!

The Azimut Yachts Flybridge Collection is now joined by the new Azimut 78 flagship, the latest exclusive example of Azimut Yachts’ Carbon-Tech generation and the first Flybridge to be fitted with three Volvo IPS propulsion units.

The desire to find a perfect balance between sophisticated design and generous volumes has resulted in a layout that sets great store by the privacy of both owners and guests.

The exterior lines are by Alberto Mancini, while the interior design is a product of the skilled hands of Achille Salvagni.

The Collection designed by Azimut Yachts for owners in search of the perfect combination of powerful emotions generated by the light, sun and wind on one hand, and of the solid comfort of the finest Italian materials on the other, is joined by a new model: Azimut 78 Fly.

Marco Valle, Azimut Yachts CEO, defined the project like this: “The 78 Fly is an ultra innovative boat with a strategic positioning in the segment midway between Azimut 72 and Azimut Grande 25METRI, providing an effective response to our customers’ growing expectations”.

23.6m long and with a beam of 5.75m, the 78 Fly is a full member of the Carbon-Tech generation, which has become a hallmark of Azimut yachts. The superstructure, flybridge, hard-top and cockpit are therefore made from carbon fiber, while the deck is hybrid glass/carbon fiber. The work involved has significantly advanced research into the use of Carbon-Tech in construction processes, a field that Azimut Yachts has pioneered from the outset and one in which it continues to have confidence and invest considerable resources.

This is the first boat in the Flybridge Collection to be fitted with three Volvo IPS propulsion units, which offer benefits that can be seen clearly in the recent S range models, including: maximum consumption efficiency, excellent quietness and handling, and an installation arrangement that frees up more living space on board. Azimut 78 Fly also stands out for a unique layout and spaces generally found on much larger yachts. A concerted effort has been made to protect guests’ privacy while on board, positioning the crew accommodation forward and with access to the helm station and galley, both of which can be completely separated from the living/dining area and from the stairways to the lower deck cabins.

The interiors are by Achille Salvagni, who created two versions. The first to be presented is Lounge, which does away with the traditional division between dining and living areas and results in the freedom of use of a highly versatile day area. This is in part thanks to the dining table, which can be transformed if needed into a low coffee table, freeing up much more space when not dining inside and allowing easy movement between the two different living areas.

In addition to the owner’s suite, the night area has two VIP cabins and a fourth guest cabin with twin beds. All the cabins have en-suite bathrooms.

The exteriors are by Alberto Mancini, for whom this was his first work on the Flybridge Collection: Mancini’s signature sleek lines are interpreted here in an unprecedented way, giving the yacht design a new sense of expressiveness.

The yacht is powered by three Volvo IPS units available with two different power ratings (3 × IPS 1.200 and 3 × IPS 1.350) and has a top speed up to 30 knots.
