Blue Wake Awards 2026: Ceremony to Recognise the Winners

The Blue Wake™ Awards were presented to six industry visionaries on the opening day of the Monaco Yacht Show.

Six MYS exhibitors were recognized through the Blue Wake™ programme – run in association with Water Revolution Foundation – for solutions delivering measurable impact on yachting sustainability.

Blue Wake Awards 2026: Ceremony to Recognise the Winners

Winners received their trophies from Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, who also leads the superyacht show. He was joined on stage in the BOAT Lounge at the Monaco Yacht Show by Leah Werner, Executive Director of Water Revolution Foundation, and Awwal Idris, the foundation’s Environmental Expert.

The event took place in the BOAT Lounge at the Monaco Yacht Show, a new joint venture between MYS and BOAT International.

“These awards celebrate the innovators who are proving that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand,” said Toby Moore. “Each winner has demonstrated measurable environmental impact through rigorous independent assessment.  They represent the future of responsible yachting.”

The Blue Wake™ programme, independently assessed by Water Revolution Foundation, identifies products, services, and innovations with demonstrated environmental impact. This year, 60 projects were validated. From this field, an expert jury selected five winners across key categories, plus a special prize for a yacht.

TENDERS/WATER TOYS: Tykun (Stand QA16bis, Quai Antoine Ier)

Marco Galimberti, CEO of TYKUN, accepted the award for their aluminium-hulled tenders that deliver measurably lower environmental impact than conventional alternatives. Their solution has been assessed through comprehensive life cycle analysis following ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, covering 14 impact categories. Their Environmental Product Declaration is currently under RINA review. Visit Stand QA16bis or see the press kit for full technical details.

LUXURY SERVICES & PRODUCTS: Bespoke Projects (Stand PP73, Parvis Piscine)

Vasilisa Mironova, Operations Manager, received the trophy for GreenCast—a sustainable alternative to traditional yacht interior materials. This recycled-monomer cast acrylic repurposes teak offcuts from yacht projects while delivering significant reductions in global warming potential, acidification, eutrophication, and fossil resource use compared to virgin alternatives, as verified through their Environmental Product Declaration.

NAUTICAL SUPPLIER: Termodinamica (Stand DS31, Darse Sud)

Maurizio Tropea, Founder & CTO, was unanimously selected by all five judges for their direct expansion marine HVAC system with inverter heat pump technology. Independent life cycle assessment showed 60-66% reductions across 10 impact categories, with real-world testing demonstrating potential annual savings of 8,000 liters of fuel and 22 tonnes of CO2.

NEW BUILD/REFIT SHIPYARD: Amico & Co (Stand DS100, Darse Sud)

Corrado Medina, Technical & Sales Manager, accepted the honor for comprehensive operational sustainability at their Genoa refit shipyard. Their 1-megawatt solar array generated nearly 1 million kilowatt-hours last year, avoiding over 400 tonnes of CO2. The facility features full-dock shore power, on-site wastewater treatment, and 25-category waste recovery.

YACHT SERVICES/BROKERAGE/CHARTER: Marina Ibiza (Stand AL41, Quai Albert Ier)

Isabel Martínez Picornell, Head of Commercial Department IPM-IMG Group, was distinguished for actively restoring marine ecosystems through Posidonia seagrass meadow restoration. Since 2021, 86,000 plants have been planted covering nearly 3,000 square meters, with survival rates above 90% and 28 species recorded in restored areas.

BLUE WAKE SPECIAL PRIZE FOR A YACHT: Simena by Ares Yachts (Stand JS16, Appontement Jules Soccal)

Piraye Şahinkaya Orhun, Ares Yacht Project Director, accepted the award for this 62-meter sailing yacht that blends traditional sailing with cutting-edge hybrid propulsion technology, including 220 kW electric motors, battery-supported silent operation, regeneration under sail, and optimized energy efficiency. The yacht achieved an 11% improvement over the average fleet in its YETI assessment based on ISO/TS 23099, showcasing how innovation and operational efficiency can significantly enhance environmental performance.Independent Assessment and Expert Jury

Each Blue Wake™ application undergoes independent assessment by the Water Revolution Foundation, led by Executive Director Leah Werner. Solutions are analyzed based on technical evidence and measurable data across four impact areas: emissions reduction, material circularity, eco-design and innovation, and protection of water and marine ecosystems. The 2026 jury comprised Lucy Dunn (Boat International Media), Dr. Vienna Eleuteri Held (Water Revolution Foundation), Toby Moore (CEO, Informa Prestige), Sara-Jane Skinner (Blue Marine Foundation), Carlo Torre (Monaco Yacht Temptation), and Tom von Bonsdorff (Baltic Yachts).

Show visitors are encouraged to visit the award-winning companies at their stands throughout the event, which runs until Saturday September 26th.

The Blue Wake™ trophy, created by French artist Cyril Bagnost, symbolizes conscious luxury – inspired by a yacht’s wake and a whale’s fin.
