On
October 19th, the Superyacht Alliance for Professional Standards was
established in Malta by the founding members MYBA, SYBAss and IAMI, in
the presence of Hon. Minister Dr Aaron Farrugia, Malta’s Minister for
Transport.
This
new organisation will initiate new qualification programs for
professionals in the superyacht industry, such as the Yacht Owners
Representative Programme but it will also promote existing ones like the
GUEST hospitality programmes.
The
primary aim and objective of the Alliance is to align associations
throughout the superyacht industry in their effort to raise the bar for
professionalism. It will also ensure that more visibility and awareness
is created about exisiting job opportunities.
The
Hon. Minister welcomed this historic achievement and congratulated the
founding associations for their commitment towards a more
environmentally sound and sustainable industry. He also reiterated
Malta’s commitment towards to success of the alliance and reassured the
alliance that Malta will remain steadfast in its policy to further
consolidate the quality mark in this important industry. This alliance
is yet more evidence that Malta remains one of the main jurisdictions in
the superyacht industry and this will be further reinforced with the
publication of the first ever national vision for the superyacht
industry.
