Today in Murter, in the presence of media representatives and partners, two exciting new initiatives were unveiled: Murterska Promenada and Murter Restaurant Week. Attendees had the opportunity to visit several festival locations, including tastings at Restaurant Fabro and Tavern Boba. The group then set out by boat to explore the Kornati taverns Opat and Smokvica.

Welcoming the guests was Luka Skračić, the festival director, who expressed his delight that, after years of planning by a group of passionate local enthusiasts, the project is finally becoming a reality. He also announced a diverse lineup of events set to take place throughout Murter until the end of May.

Murterska Promenada is a fresh and innovative festival celebrating both nautical culture and gastronomy. After a successful pilot edition last October, this year’s festival is moving to a prime date, from May 30 to June 1. With its unique concept and vibrant program, the event stands out from other similar festivals and fairs.

In the center of Murter, newly installed exhibition pontoons will transform the waterfront into a dynamic festival hub, creating additional display space for boats. A pop-up culinary zone will showcase the iconic cuisine of the Kornati Islands, and each evening will feature live music performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Running alongside the Murterska Promenada is the Murter Restaurant Week, which kicks off on May 23 and runs through to June 1. Around 20 of the top restaurants from Murter and the Kornati archipelago will participate, offering specially curated festival menus and premium wines at promotional prices. Several exclusive dinners and culinary events are also planned throughout the week.

One of the festival’s standout features is the introduction of regular boat shuttles connecting Murter to the participating Kornati restaurants, made possible through partnerships with local transport providers. These routes—available at discounted prices—are designed to bring the Kornati culinary experience closer to all food and wine lovers, including those who aren’t necessarily sailors.

The overarching vision of these events is to position Murter and the Kornati Islands as a leading gourmet destination on the Adriatic, with a special focus on nautical tourism and the rich local food culture.
