The island is easily accessible by public transport services (50 mins from the Airport; 15 mins from Piazza San Marco; 30 mins from the railway station and car parks), and private taxis (20 mins from the Airport; 10 mins from Piazza San Marco; 20 mins from the railway station and car parks).
SALA SQUADRATORI – VENICE ARSENALE
Sala Squadratori, an amazing venue in the heart of Venice’s Arsenale, is the result of an extraordinary architectural restoration project.
The Squadratori building has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries. The site originally hosted a 16th-century structure used for storing timber. Inside, the squadratori worked—arsenal craftsmen specialized in measuring and cutting planks from tree trunks for shipbuilding.
Nineteenth-century alterations profoundly changed its original layout, shortening the building and creating a sort of large attic space above.
The new upper floor was used as a spacious drawing hall and is now a venue for events of importance to the city.
